African Collaborating Centre for Pharmacovigilance (ACC), a not-for-profit foundation coordinating the public, governmental, non-governmental and private sector initiatives in pharmacovigilance across Africa. Professor Alexander Nii Oto Dodoo
Scientific Director
 
Professor Alexander Nii Oto Dodoo, a clinical pharmacologist, pharmacist and pharmacovigilante, with extensive experience in drug safety, vaccine safety, harmonisation initiatives and the development of norms and standards, now the Executive Director of the Ghana Standards Authority (GSA) and also an associate Professor at the Centre for Tropical Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, School of Medicine and Dentistry, University of Ghana as well as the Director of WHO Collaborating Centre for Advocacy and Training in Pharmacovigilance (WHO-CC), Accra, Ghana. He serves on several local and International advisory, training and safety committees including Member, WHO Advisory Committee on the Safety of Medicinal Products, Member, Access and Delivery Advisory Committee of the Medicines for Malaria Venture and Chairman of the Global Vaccine Initiative. He was for two terms (4 years), the president of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ghana and served as President of the Pharmacy Information Section of the International Pharmaceutical Federation. He is the author/co-author of various manuscripts and full papers in peer-reviewed journals and has one book published titled: Healthy Secrets – a layperson’s guide to health issues.
 

 
 
Dr. Haggar Hilda Ampadu
Deputy Director
 
Dr. Haggar Hilda Ampadu holds a PhD in Drug Regulatory Science & Pharmacoepidemiology at the department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmcoepidemiology and Clinical Pharmacology. Her research focused on Drug Regulation and Pharmacoepidemiology for Pharmacovigilance in Africa. She is also the Ag. Director of the African Collaborating Centre for Pharmacovigilance (ACC), Accra-Ghana. She is a trained Biologist and Data Scientist. Hilda worked in the United States Biotech/Pharmaceutical/Medical Device industry for 12 plus years mainly in the areas of Drug Discovery/Clinical Trials. She is an elected (2017-2021) board member of the International Society of Pharmacovigilance (ISoP)-London-UK; responsible for promoting pharmacovigilance across Africa. She is also a council member of the Ghana Health Service-Ministry of Health and the chairperson of the Human Resource Committee of the Ghana Health Service Council responsible for appointments and promotions within the service. Further, Hilda is a council member of the Accra Technical University and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. She is also a part-time lecturer at the University of Ghana, School of Public Health- disease surveillance department.
 

 
 
Dr Sharon Laryea
Chief Operating Manager
 
Dr Sharon Laryea is an experienced pharmacist with over 18 years experience in both ' community and clinical practice with a hybrid of experience in the UK and Ghana. She is ' currently the CEO of SnS Pharma limited and a Pharmacy assessor for Buttercups Pharmacy " training institute UK. Dr Sharon Laryea has gained a wealth of experience in Drug Safety. In the past she has acted as the Deputy director of the WHO collaborating centre of pharmacovigilance in Africa and a lead drug safety scientist for the Bill Gates initiatives on antimalarials ( Indepth Network). She has been involved in the firm establishment and monitoring of pharmacovigilance centres in some West African countries. Recently she has acted as a member of an advisory team in the establishment of a model pharmacy in Ghana. Dr Sharon Laryea holds an MPharm from the University of Portsmouth , an MSC Health Management from the Imperial College , University of London and an MBA from the niversity of Leeds UK..
